Willia Wooten, Ed.D.

Willia Wooten was appointed tot he Board of Trustees in December, 1994 by the Houston County Commissioners Court to replace Judge John Musgrove who retired and moved to Galveston. She received her doctorate in the field of education from Nova University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and has been active in mental health and mental retardation programs for many years. Dr. Wooten has been the Director of Special Education for the Lufkin Independent School District, and has also served as the Elementary School Principal and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the Crockett Independent School District. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the East Texas Research and Development Center, the Association of School Administrators, and the Association of Female Executives. Dr. Wooten currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
