Employment Opportunities
The Burke Center offers employment opportunities
through its New Directions Industries work program:
Vocational training is provided to individuals to help the
individual develop and refine skills necessary to work in the
community. Individuals receiving vocational training receive hands
on training and supervision from staff while working in a sheltered
work environment and/or on external work crews.
Supported Employment assist individuals in finding paid
individualized employment in the community by helping him/her
identify employment preferences, job skills, work requirements and
conditions, and prospective employers offering employment compatible
with the individual’s identified preferences, skills, and
requirements. Once a job is obtained, supports are provided to the
individual to assist him/her maintain employment by providing on-the
job training. |
